New messages and auto-scrolling.

I came here in order to fine tune my chat and I saw something that I did a quick search afterward but couldn't find what I was looking for. It's the famous Auto-Scroll down every time a new message is typed, here, all while keeping the 1.3.5 chat layout, when a new message is written and I'm scrolling to read older messages, it doesn't go back down. So my question is, how would I have to proceed in order to keep my 1.3.5 layout and not auto-scrolling down when a new message is written all while keeping the chat's functionality perfectly normal for the current people chatting? Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your quick reply, time to get to work!

Sorry for the double post, but the link given to me somewhat forces me to use Pause on input which doesn't fully work neither, while the one you currently use, nothing is required it just doesn't scroll down when people is typing as I browse older posts. Is there any alternative? Also, on a side note as I was testing, I realized that the Auto Pause when typing doesn't goes off when you erase everything.

It doesn't require the pause on input and clearing everything should reset the pause.
